Greater Sudbury Heritage Museums

Greater Sudbury's history is the story of immigrants, carving a rich life out of the natural resources of the area. Each of the museums tells the unique story of a part of the community.

  • Visit Anderson Farm Museum and see how Finnish immigrants built a prosperous dairy farm out of the bush.
  • Visit the Copper Cliff Museum and see how immigrant mine workers built a town rich in sports and military accomplishments.
  • Visit the Flour Mill Museum and learn how French-Canadian settlers formed the basis of our arts, medical and educational communities.
  • Visit the Rayside-Balfour Museum and see how early agriculture shaped the “Valley.”

Early Sudbury attracted dreamers and speculators. Visitors from Sir John A. MacDonald, to Thomas Edison, to Sir Wilfrid Laurier, and Ernest Hemingway all found their way here.
