Thirty minutes northwest of Sudbury on Municipal Rd. 55 and Hwy. 144. Take in a scenic view of High Falls in Onaping as it cascades 55 m (150 feet) into the Sudbury Basin. The spectacular view captured the imagination of A.Y. Jackson, a member of the Group of Seven, and was immortalized in his painting Spring on the Onaping River. Hike the trails around the falls, picture perfect anytime, but spectacular in the fall.

Budd Car Adventure

VIA Rail’s Lake Superior (Budd Car) is a best-kept secret! The self-propelled Rail Diesel Car makes triweekly runs between Sudbury and White River. The train passes myriad lakes and scenic wilderness areas with scheduled stops at numerous picturesque communities and resorts, as well as flag stops, offering paddling enthusiasts access to canoe routes along the Spanish River.
